It's February now, and we have a new lovely theme!

Low poly
was the obvious winner, and you are free to make recolours of any low poly meshes or even better, new meshes! Make sure to add information on what is the poly count of the mesh you used/made when you post.

What poly is a low poly?
A low poly is one which is similar to its original Maxis counterparts. Due to technology progress, most systems can handle more polys then just the Maxis ones. Therefore, roughly, for this theme a low poly is equal to/a third greater then a Maxis one and fits into the following guidelines:
Hair - 6500 or less.
Objects - 1000 per tile for furniture, and max 1500 for one tile deco objects.
Hood deco - 200 or less.

If you don't know how to find the poly count, go here. To check if the mesh you are using is low poly, have a look at some Maxis versions - if they are similar or a bit greater ( x 1.3) then yes!

Is there a low poly standard for hood deco? Smiley Less than 100? Less than 1000?

I have no idea about hood deco, and I have no idea what polycount is reasonable for them. So suggestions are welcome!

Well, I'd say around 200 as a rule of thumb. The rabbit holes from TS3 have 100-500. 200 should be a reasonable challenge but leaves enough room for things that are not just cubes (the TS3 diner is 150). Of course it also depends on the object, a street sign shouldn't be that high.

My first contribution for this month. I love it so hopefully I'll be able to create a lot of things for this theme.

The polycount of this is not THAT low, but it is lower than the numbers given and the whole purpose of the mesh edit was making the polycount lower so... yeah.
This is a mesh edit of this hair by Nouk, I edited the mesh to remove the curls, as I have never used it with the curls and editing the mesh made the polycount lower. This mesh has also been converted for children, thanks to marja.
The textures come from these edits by Pooklet, because I LOVED her retexture, so all credits to Pooklet for them.
The buns in the child mesh have been scaled down a bit, as I found the smaller buns more realistic, because kids usually don't have such a long hair.

Important issue:
The child bangs are not animated. I had to scale them down and having them animated caused odd animations, so they won't move now.

DOWNLOAD
Mesh included
Family-linked in 4 different families, following Pooklet's scheme
Elders have grey hair, which is in separated files
Compressorized and with proper tooltips

For more pictures check here

Mesh Info:
Works for children-elder
Medium poly
Faces 4532, vertices 2763 (original polycount was 6836 faces)

Credits:
Nouk for the mesh
Marja for creating the child mesh package for me
Pooklet for the colors and textures

Oh, I didn't know hood objects are that low poly! Fine then, let it be 200.

NEVER. Cheesy

Pinket, that mesh alteration makes me super happy, and especially so since it comes with a version for kids!

Adorable hair, Pinket!  Cheesy

Can't wait to see what else comes out of this. Are maxis object recolors suitable for this theme?
